More Wolves

Our classmate, Sharee, shot this wolf with her camera last Sunday near Winchester. Thanks to everyone who came. Here are some common statements about wolves you all might want to think about. These statements might also appear as true or false questions on your optional final exam.

  1. Wolves are "viscious killing machines" that often kill without purpose.
  2. Wolves devastate elk herds and leave hunters with fewer elk to kill.
  3. Wolves are now devasting Idaho's domestic sheep population.
  4. Wolves are now devastating Idaho's domestic cattle population.
  5. Ranchers are not reimbursed for their losses to wolves.
  6. Most livestock losses to wolves go undetected.
  7. Wolves are very dangerous and commonly attack people.
  8. Wolves are causing serious economic harm to local communities.
  9. Wolves from Canada were used for reintroduction to central Idaho and Yellowstone and so they are not native to Idaho.
Please be sure to look here at our class blog for the complete (but optional) final exam. Coming soon!
