Yellowstone Druids and Agates Get Together

The photo above, shot from the pass between "Little America" and The Lamar Valley, shows the mountainside that John Daniel and I watched come alive with ten wolves—five Druids and five Aggates—and then run a heard of Elk out of the trees near the suspension bridge and make an unseen kill. I spent much of the afternoon here watching and listening while John went off on his own walks and adventures. I didn't want to leave. As it grew toward dark, the wolves became even more active. I'm not sure that anyone has ever witnessed and studied the formation of a pack from five members of two (and possibly three) different packs. But that, according to the scientists, was apparently what had been happening and was continuing to happen. Please be sure and let me know if you completed the reading of Gary Ferguson's book.
